Maryam Al-Kathiri

Maryam learned from the masters. Her incantations can change the course of a life. She knows your name. She grew up in the shadow of Bahla Fort, heir to the region's own hidden sciences. Her deepest learning comes from unbound folios passed from master to apprentice. She brews talismanic inks of saffron and rosewater, turns a name into its hidden number and seals it to heal, conceal or shield, and through long fasts has bound jinn to her service. In town she passes for a folk healer, and few who come to her know what she can really do.
